What is a lease takeover?+
A lease takeover (or lease transfer) is when you take over the remaining months of someone else's car lease. You get a shorter commitment and often no big down payment, and some owners even pay you an incentive to take it over. The leasing company has to approve you, usually with a credit check, and may charge a transfer fee.
Is the monthly payment before tax?+
Payments on Leap Cars are shown before sales tax unless the listing says otherwise. Your final payment will include the GST, HST or PST that applies in your province.
Do I need good credit to lease a car?+
Most leasing companies run a credit check. On Leap, applications use a soft check that doesn't affect your score, and dealers or owners see a summary, not your full report.
What happens if I go over the kilometre allowance?+
Leases include a yearly kilometre allowance. Going over usually costs a set amount per extra kilometre at the end of the lease, so pick a car whose allowance fits how much you drive.
